StarHub has announced that it will develop network APIs with Nokia to unlock new revenue streams and monetize its network assets.
The partnership will focus on enabling developers to create 4G and 5G applications that offer capabilities such as device status updates and on-demand quality of service, catering to sectors like banking, finance, ports, and other enterprise industries.

Using Nokia’s Network as Code platform, which includes a developer portal, StarHub will provide standardized access to its network functions via APIs. This will allow developers to build software applications compatible with StarHub’s 4G and 5G networks without requiring in-depth knowledge of the underlying network infrastructure.
Ayush Sharma, CTO at StarHub, noted that the partnership has the potential to enhance and streamline the developer experience. "Giving developers access to a wider selection of attractive network APIs is critical to unlocking the full value of 5G and 4G networks in Singapore and the wider region,” he explained.

Nokia’s network API strategy emphasizes integrating multiple API ecosystems through its Network as Code platform. Designed to offer operators a wide range of network exposure options, the platform is equipped with advanced multi-tier API security. This approach enables operators of all sizes to deliver streamlined access to network functionalities for developers, fostering innovation and application development.
