CelcomDigi has launched its CelcomDigi AI Experience Centre (AiX), a state-of-the-art facility that aims to facilitate the innovative development of world-class digital solutions across a range of sectors and verticals.

The Minister of Communications, YB Fahmi Fadzil, headed the inaugural ceremony and highlighted the important role of AiX in advancing Malaysia's digital agenda. AiX boasts an initial investment of MYR 55 million to help in accelerating the integration of advanced technologies like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), extended reality (XR), robotics, analytics, and the metaverse, which aims to establish Malaysia as a leader in digital transformation.

CelcomDigi CEO, Datuk Idham Nawawi, noted the importance of AiX in promoting a dynamic innovation ecosystem, stating that, “The AI Experience Centre is a realization of the national benefit of the merger, where CelcomDigi’s scale and capabilities are able to attract and partner global and regional digital tech giants to accelerate the development of cutting-edge digital solutions—positioning us a strong ally to the nation’s digital aspirations.”

The AiX is located at the CelcomDigi Hub in Subang Jaya’s Hi-Tech Park. It houses two primary spaces—the Infinity and the Gallery—which visitors can explore to witness immersive experiences and real-world use cases in industries such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and agritech.

The Infinity is a spatial environment created to offer guests immersive and interactive encounters with digital society simulations, utilizing cutting-edge audio-visual technology. Meanwhile, the Gallery exhibits a tangible collection of practical examples from many industries to demonstrate the revolutionary capabilities of developing technologies that are crucial for the expansion of businesses.

The simulations will showcase a variety of 5G and AI-powered technologies and robotics in eight specific areas: manufacturing, logistics, energy, fleet management, port operations, healthcare, education, and agritech. Out of the 45 solutions showcased across the eight categories, 13 are now being tested with businesses in Malaysia.

One of the highlights of AiX is AI-RA, the inaugural AI digital humanoid and permanent co-host. AI-RA engages with guests, offering valuable information on the displayed technology and their practical uses. AI-RA is accompanied by autonomous robotics that showcase a range of functions, including perimeter surveillance and personal assistance, demonstrating how the integration of AI and robotics may improve everyday life.

AiX, supported by a strong, extensive and growing ecosystem of 40 global technology leaders, local partners and solution providers, is poised to lead significant progress in Malaysia's digital environment. AiX's objective is to revolutionize businesses and equip Malaysia's workforce with future-ready skills by facilitating collaborations across different industries and utilizing emerging technology.
