Telekom Malaysia’s (TM) Unifi Business has launched its latest e-Pharmacy Solution, a mobile application that allows online prescriptions via teleconsultation for pharmacists and their patients.

The new solution was created with Teleme Technologies and has been integrated into Unifi Business' high-speed fixed broadband plans, which range from 100Mbps to 2Gbps.

TM’s e-Pharmacy Solution provides a complete range of services, including access to more than 500 authorized healthcare experts for remote consultations, electronic prescriptions, personalized digital signatures, informative e-health publications, and a secure storage system for patients' medical records.

TM's extensive network infrastructure, together with its nationwide team of over 600 Unifi Business consultants, aims to help pharmacists deliver essential drugs and services, particularly in rural and remote communities.

“This new offering also reflects TM’s continuous efforts towards becoming a Digital Powerhouse by 2030, leading industry growth through digitalization and sustainability and strengthening our digital ecosystem to benefit communities and businesses,” explained Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, TM’s Group CEO.

The launch of TM’s e-Pharmacy Solution was inaugurated by Minister of Communications, YB Fahmi Fadzil, representing TM’s commitment to helping the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS), in bridging the gap in access to high-quality healthcare between urban and rural areas.

This service is also eligible for the government’s Geran Digital PMKS Madani (GDPM), which would ensure that pharmacists from the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise segment (MSME) receive the necessary support to adopt digitalization and establish a more inclusive healthcare system across the country.
