A new access port service called Edge Port has been made available by Console Connect, a well-known Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) platform, allowing companies to connect directly to the Console Connect platform from company locations all over the world.

Organizations may obtain fast, dependable and agile connectivity using Edge Port, which gives them a dedicated connection to the Console Connect platform and network from their office location. This helps organizations speed up their digital transformation.

By seamlessly linking their office location to clouds, applications, devices and any other business that is connected to the Console Connect platform, Edge Port enables businesses to quickly build and scale their digital environment.

In ten markets, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Africa, the UK and the US, businesses can request an Edge Port be delivered to their work location.

Businesses can access the full spectrum of dedicated Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity services offered by Console Connect, as well as a premium Internet service, using a single Edge Port.

Users of Console Connect have the option of integrating their services via API or using the Console Connect administration interface to manage and pay for their connectivity in real time.

The platform gives users access to Console Connect's sophisticated MPLS network infrastructure, which offers high levels of speed, security and performance to satisfy the needs of workloads and applications that are mission-critical.

The Senior Vice President for Digital Automated Innovation at Console Connect, Michael Glynn, said, “Edge Port brings the power of network automation all the way to your office building and empowers Console Connect users to build their own private virtual networks that can be scaled to meet the needs of their business. With many businesses still trying to understand how to meet the needs of their hybrid workforce, Edge Port gives them greater flexibility and choice with their global connectivity and makes it easier and more secure to access critical cloud-based services.”

Via the Console Connect administration interface, businesses may acquire and manage their Edge Port service.

Businesses can securely connect their offices throughout the world and dynamically change bandwidth during periods of high network traffic by acquiring numerous Edge Ports.

The Edge Port also comes with the following features:

  • Users can log in to Console Connect and get real-time quotes for establishing a fixed-line connection directly to an office building.
  • Businesses can order a premium Internet service for their premises for as little as a day, providing backup bandwidth during periods when office space is in high use. Console Connect has recently announced some enhancements to its Internet On-Demand service.
  • Console Connect recently launched Edge SIM, which enables businesses to connect directly to the Console Connect platform through multiple connected devices. Edge SIM supports the needs of a remote workforce by dynamically routing traffic between devices, clouds, enterprise locations and other network endpoints — without mobile traffic being exposed to the public Internet.
  • The Console Connect platform is integrated with the world’s largest cloud providers, with direct connections to and between AWS, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud and others.
  • Edge Ports are initially available to order in 10 markets: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Africa, the UK and the US (lead times for Edge Port activation vary per location). More countries will be added throughout 2023.
