TPG subscribers in Singapore, of which there are almost 200,000, will soon be able to enjoy free and unlimited data roaming experience when they travel to Malaysia and Indonesia from mid-July onwards.
“These two countries are two of the top travel destinations for Singaporeans due to their proximity, so many of our customers will be able to save and break away from existing high roaming charges,” TPG's executive chairman David Teoh said.
Additionally, users can also make unlimited calls to mobile numbers in Singapore while roaming with a cap time of 20 minutes.
TPG, Singapore’s fourth telco, has kick-started its mobile service this year with a SIM-only plan which allows users to experience unlimited data and mobile-to-mobile calls.
According to Mr Teoh, the new free unlimited data roaming in these two neighbouring countries "are just one of the many product enhancements we are launching so our customers can always stay connected and benefit from our service."
