Singtel to Divest US Digital Marketing Subsidiary for $239 million
ExpiredSingtel will divest its US digital media and advertising subsidiary Amobee to London- and NASDAQ-traded advertising technology firm Tremor International for an enterprise valuation of $239 million. The net proceeds after deducting transaction costs and adjustments such as debt and working capital is estimated to be $197 million at closing. The divestment is in line with Singtel’s strategic reset to sharpen its business focus and recycle assets and capital into growth areas with higher returns. In May, Singtel announced that Amobee, a non-core business, was classified as a subsidiary held for sale in March this year.
Singtel to Invest Additional US$100 million into Innovative Tech
ExpiredSingtel plans to invest a further $100 million into Singtel Innov8, its corporate venture arm, raising its total capital commitment to $350 million. One of the earliest corporate venture capital firms in Southeast Asia, Innov8 invests in start-ups that align with Singtel Group businesses in the areas of 5G, artificial Intelligence, the digital economy, sustainability, cybersecurity and emerging technologies. It operates on an evergreen fund model, re-investing returns from portfolio exits into new investments. With the capital injection, Innov8 will further expand its portfolio of investments in Southeast Asia, the United States, China, Israel and Australia.
Singtel’s 5G SA Network Exceeds 95% Nationwide Coverage
ExpiredSingtel has achieved over 95% standalone 5G nationwide coverage. This comes more than three years ahead of the regulatory target of end-2025, effectively making Singapore the first country in the world to be fully covered by standalone 5G.
