Singtel will divest its US digital media and advertising subsidiary Amobee to London- and NASDAQ-traded advertising technology firm Tremor International for an enterprise valuation of $239 million. The net proceeds after deducting transaction costs and adjustments such as debt and working capital is estimated to be $197 million at closing. The divestment is in line with Singtel’s strategic reset to sharpen its business focus and recycle assets and capital into growth areas with higher returns. In May, Singtel announced that Amobee, a non-core business, was classified as a subsidiary held for sale in March this year.

Singtel has signed an agreement with Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) to deploy Singtel’s 5G infrastructure network solutions at its Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre in Singapore (HMGICS) which includes an electric vehicle production facility. The HMGICS, the first of its kind in the world, will leverage Singtel’s leading-edge 5G campus network with mobile edge core solutions that will provide uninterrupted high-speed connectivity and massive bandwidth to enhance HMGICS’s high-precision quality control in manufacturing operations.

HKT announced that its telemedicine platform, DrGo, will join River Cam Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Clinic, and South Kwai Chung Social Service Office to deliver 100 free traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) consultation service sessions for Kwai Tsing district residents in Hong Kong.

In a move to further decentralise its organisational structure, the Singtel Group has announced that its Australian subsidiary Optus will directly oversee its Optus Enterprise division with effect from 1 July 2022. This move to transfer the management of this division to Australia will effectively give Optus more operational autonomy and direct accountability.

3 Hong Kong, the mobile arm of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited, and Microsoft Hong Kong have entered into a strategic collaboration. 3 Hong Kong will use Microsoft’s cloud technology solution to accelerate digital transformation. It is also the first telecoms operator to adopt Microsoft’s end-to-end Customer Insight platform and artificial intelligence (AI) to uplift and enhance customer satisfaction by providing hyper-personalized customer service and digital experience through an all-round analysis of customer needs. The collaboration will also accelerate 3 Hong Kong's launch of a series of new enterprise solutions for corporate customers to empower them to explore new opportunities and enhance their competitiveness.

Singtel has been appointed by Micron Technology to deploy its 5G millimetre wave solutions with localised edge core at the semiconductor manufacturer’s 3D NAND flash memory fabrication plant in Singapore. Micron is the first company in Singapore piloting 5G by deploying an mmWave campus solution with edge core on-premises for industry 4.0 manufacturing applications.

Nokia announced that it has been selected by Taiwan Mobile (TWM) in an expansion deal to enhance the operator’s 5G coverage across the country. Under the deal, Nokia will provide its latest energy-efficient AirScale portfolio supporting TWM’s commitments to RE100 and reaching 100 percent renewable energy by 2040. It will also provide a smooth network evolution path following the completion of the proposed merger with Taiwan Star.
