Telecom company, Vodafone Idea (Vi), has officially launched its 5G services in Mumbai, India, in partnership with Nokia.
They have deployed energy-efficient equipment to ensure sustainability and top-tier performance. Additionally, they have integrated an artificial intelligence (AI)-based, self-organizing network (SON) system to continuously optimize network performance.

To make 5G more accessible, Vi has introduced an unlimited 5G data offer for plans starting at just INR 299, making it one of the most affordable options in the market.
Jagbir Singh, Chief Technology Officer of Vodafone Idea, stated, “Our focus is on introducing 5G in a meaningful way for our users. We have invested in building a strong 5G network by using the latest technology. By expanding our infrastructure, we are delivering a network that is ready for the future—seamless, powerful, and designed for the demands of modern connectivity.”
In the past year, Vi has raised equity of approximately INR 26,000 crore, including India’s largest follow-on public offering (FPO) of INR 18,000 crore. With a planned capital expenditure (CapEx) investment of INR 50,000–55,000 crore over the next three years, the company aims to expand its 4G network to cover 90% of India and introduce 5G in key areas.
