Nokia has been selected by TM to construct a special international optical Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) network. This network will help manage the increasing data traffic and improve connectivity to data centers.

Nokia's advanced DWDM solution will enable TM to handle large increases in data traffic and meet the growing demand for cloud-based services and applications from its hyperscaler customers.

The new DWDM network will serve as a fast route for cross-country traffic, linking the Malaysia-Thailand border to the Malaysia-Singapore border. It will enhance connectivity to major data centers in Malaysia and a cable landing station to accommodate the rising data traffic between these countries. Once operational, the new network will assist TM in implementing artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the network’s performance and operations through automation.

System Convergence for Sustainability

Utilizing Nokia's fifth-generation, super-coherent Photonic Service Engine (PSE-Vs), the all-optical network will offer superior transmission performance over long distances, enhancing capacity, scalability, and interoperability while promoting environmental sustainability with low energy consumption.

By transmitting signals over a single fiber optic cable, TM will efficiently manage the large amounts of data produced by hyperscalers. TM will also use the Nokia WaveSuite platform to optimize its network and operations, as well as monetize its network assets through service enablement applications.
