Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has partnered with Cisco to strengthen cybersecurity in Indonesia by implementing state-of-the-art security edge services, enhancing security controls and taking proactive measures against cyber threats.

Vikram Sinha, President Director and CEO of Indosat, and Dave West, President for Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China at Cisco, signed the MoU and agreed to collaborate in revolutionizing the country’s cybersecurity approach for enterprises, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

“As we evolve our approach to security and resiliency, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s group collaboration with Cisco not only enhances our ability to anticipate security incidents but also aligns with our larger purpose of connecting and empowering every Indonesian,” said Vikram.

Utilizing Mulit-Layer Detection Solutions

Indosat, through its subsidiary, PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta (Lintasarta), will utilize various cybersecurity solutions offered by Cisco, including extended threat detection and response (XDR), security services edge (SSE), email security, and multifactor authentication.

XDR is a multi-layer threat detection, investigation, and response solution that can break down silos in security tools and team barriers to provide enterprises with a comprehensive security view.

Meanwhile, SSE combines numerous security functions into a cloud service to safeguard users and infrastructure from cyberattacks. This zero-trust cloud-delivered solution secures user experience and access from any device to anywhere.

Indosat will then offer these solutions through managed services, which are customized to address the specific cybersecurity requirements of businesses in Indonesia.

Accelerating Indonesia’s Digital Transformation

Bayu Hanantasena, President Director & CEO of Lintasarta believes that the partnership showcases their commitment to accelerating Indonesia’s digital transformation and will present more opportunities to enhance the cybersecurity landscape in the country.

West also emphasized the importance of having a strong cybersecurity foundation to address the cyber threats in the current business landscape of Indonesia, where organizations are operating using a hybrid model.

The partnership showcases Indosat and Cisco’s commitment to providing simple, secure, and scalable solutions to Indonesia's hybrid and cloud-business landscape.
