As remote work continues to be a norm in Singapore, the ability to keep connected with employees and customers anytime and anywhere have become a must have for businesses. With this in mind, Singtel is to the first operator based in Singapore to offer the Unified Communications (UC) Direct Connect service for Microsoft Teams, giving businesses the option to use Microsoft Teams as a key mode of communication by integrating their business contact to their Microsoft Teams. Its functionality integrates with Operator Connect for Microsoft Teams that was launched by Microsoft.
Mr Lim Seng Kong, Managing Director, Singtel Enterprise Business at Group Enterprise said, “We are honoured to the first operator based in Singapore to offer the Unified Communications Direct Connect service for businesses. Our collaboration with Microsoft gives us a unique opportunity to help businesses in their digitalisation journeys by providing an innovative, all-in-one solution and platform that can support the hybrid work arrangement of today, allowing businesses to continue to operate and stay connected with the employees, customers and partners no matter where they are.”
Singtel is continuously building up its suite of offerings, working with various partners like Microsoft, to be a one-stop solution provider for businesses. The recent addition of UC Direct Connect builds on the current solutions of Microsoft 365, Singtel Cloud Connect in conjunction with Microsoft Azure Peering Services as well as Azure Stack Hub on Singtel’s multi-access edge compute (MEC) offerings. UC Direct Connect will offer an enhanced customer experience, where businesses can manage account usage and number allocation on a single platform as well as get analytics and reporting functions via the same Teams Admin Centre.
The UC Direct Connect service leverages the existing Singtel Cloud Connect to provide high availability service with optimal routing that ensures consistent good call quality.
