The ICT industry has come a long way in enabling today’s digital-first economy since the early advancements in 2G, 3G and 4G mobile internet connectivity. Now, with the rapid deployment and adoption of 5G technology, the digital economy holds tremendous potential for all sectors and industries and endless possibilities for new revenue and economic growth. However, to derive genuine value from this potential, carriers must focus on constant innovation and collaboration to meet the increasing digital requirements in both the consumer and industrial markets.

AdaniConneX, a joint venture between Adani Enterprises Ltd. and EdgeConneX, has completed financing for its data center assets currently under construction in India. The company has signed a Financing Framework and has raised $213 million through its first construction facility. This facility will fund two data centers with a total capacity of 67 MW, comprising the “Chennai 1” campus, which has a Phase 1 capacity of 17 MW, and the Noida campus, which has a capacity of 50 MW.

STT GDC Indonesia, a top provider of data center services, has officially launched its first data center facility, STT Jakarta 1, in Bekasi, Jawa Barat. The data center campus has the capacity to support up to 72 megawatts of critical IT capacity, with STT Jakarta 1 alone supporting up to 19.5 MW.

Ericsson's latest Mobility Report reveals that the global growth of 5G technology is still ongoing, with India leading the way. Indonesia's mobile service revenue is expected to grow at a mere 0.3% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from US$10.4 billion in 2022 to US$10.6 billion in 2027, according to GlobalData. This is due to the continued decline in mobile voice revenues, which outweighs the steady progress in the mobile data service segment.

Super Retail Group, one of Australia's and New Zealand's major retailers, has partnered with Optus, a leading telecommunications operator, to deploy innovative 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology at its Queensland distribution facility after a successful trial period.
