China Mobile International (CMI) and Telecom Egypt have announced a pivotal strategic commercial agreement, underscoring their commitment to addressing the surging global demand for data.

The agreement was signed by Wang Hua, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CMI, and Mohamed Nasr, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Telecom Egypt. Leveraging their extensive investments in subsea cable infrastructure, this collaboration aims to provide enhanced connectivity solutions tailored to the ever-expanding requirements of businesses and consumers worldwide.

The agreement comes at a critical time as global internet traffic continues to grow exponentially. Global IP traffic is projected to reach 396 exabytes per month by 2025, driven by increasing digital transformation across industries and the widespread adoption of high-bandwidth applications like video streaming, cloud computing, and remote work solutions. For businesses, seamless connectivity has become non-negotiable, with data demand expected to grow at a 23% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) through 2030 in sectors such as e-commerce, finance, and telemedicine.

DICT Solutions at the Forefront

The partnership also offers a range of innovative digital and business services designed to meet the evolving needs of businesses in Egypt and the surrounding region. This agreement strengthens the relationship between CMI, a subsidiary of China Mobile known for operating the world's largest network and serving a large customer base, and Telecom Egypt, a leading telecom services provider in Egypt and a major operator of subsea cables in the region.

A key aspect of this partnership is the international infrastructure commercial agreement, which aims to expand the global reach of both companies and provide high-quality, uninterrupted services in an interconnected world. By adding more routes to their cable systems, the collaboration enhances the diversity and resiliency of their networks, ensuring more reliable connectivity services.

By combining CMI's advanced digital solutions with Telecom Egypt's extensive infrastructure and market expertise, both organizations will work together to develop customized DICT (digital, information, communication, and technology) solutions for enterprises. This collaboration aims to empower businesses with scalable solutions that drive digital transformation and solidify their positions as leaders in the enterprise services market.

CMI and Telecom Egypt will continue to leverage their resources and expertise to enhance services for global enterprises and consumers, accelerate the development of the digital economy, and create greater economic and societal value.
