PLDT's ICT subsidiary, ePLDT, has partnered with fiber internet provider Radius Telecoms, Inc. to boost the telco system of ePLDT's forthcoming VITRO Sta. Rosa data center, which is set to open in early 2024.
Through this partnership, Radius Telecoms, Inc. will build a point of presence at VITRO Sta. Rosa, which provides dependable connectivity options to corporations and hyperscalers seeking to use the facility. Radius Telecoms, Inc. will also collaborate with ePLDT to expand fiber connectivity throughout the VITRO Data Centers. They will construct a varied fiber facility that will connect VITRO Sta. Rosa to VITRO Makati 2 and other critical Metro Manila data centers, advancing ePLDT's Data Center Interconnect service.
“The addition of Radius Telecoms, Inc. will undoubtedly enhance the hyperconnectivity, resilience and scalability of VITRO Sta. Rosa, ensuring our clients can navigate the digital landscape with confidence and seize endless growth opportunities,” said Victor S. Genuino, ePLDT President and CEO.
VITRO Sta. Rosa is being built specifically to be the Philippines' first true hyperscale data center facility. It will have at least three diverse ports of entry linked to eight telco-neutral meet-me rooms, all of which are specifically built to meet the strict network requirements of hyperscalers interested in creating availability zones and ports-of-presence in the country.
Quiel Delgado, President & CEO of Radius Telecoms, Inc., expressed excitement about the partnership and the potential to make a significant impact in the industry.
“Radius and ePLDT's visions are very aligned. Through this partnership, I believe we can create a big ripple in the industry. That's why I'm excited to see the formalization of this partnership. But a lot of work needs to be done, and you can count on Radius and the team to ensure that we will be successful in this endeavour,” said Mr. Delgado.
Mr. Genuino is optimistic about the partnership with Radius Telecoms, Inc., recognizing that partnerships with companies like Radius Telecoms, Inc. would help in building robust and world-class facilities as well as hyperconnected data centers. This, in turn, brings the Philippines closer to its vision of becoming a regional hyperscaler hub, facilitating hypergrowth for enterprises.
