Yap Yong Teck has assumed the role of president at MyRepublic, stepping up from his previous role as group managing director. This promotion comes as MyRepublic reveals a new business vision and operating model as part of its decade-long anniversary celebration this year.

As president of MyRepublic, Yong Teck is directly responsible for driving growth, operational efficiency, and synergies across the company’s service businesses in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to this, Yong Teck served as the group managing director of country operations and managing director of MyRepublic Singapore. He played a leading role in launching and developing MyRepublic’s mobile business, where he established the business as a key growth engine alongside MyRepublic’s broadband and enterprise businesses.

Before he joined MyRepublic, Yong Teck was general manager of M1 (Singapore), where he was responsible for the consumer market in terms of revenue and customer acquisition, managing products and services including mobile and fixed broadband, fixed lines, mobile network virtual operators and internet TV. He notably led the launch of the M1’s Home Broadband services, catapulting M1 into a successful multi-product service provider.

Yong Teck has over 30 years of experience in the info-communication industry, having held positions ranging from technical to marketing and management. His expertise ranges from product and marketing (consumer and enterprise segments) as well as mobility, to project management, tender specification, system and IT planning and software development.
