Google’s latest project, Taara, could redefine how we all connect and use the internet.
The new high-speed, light internet chip can transmit data through the air using beams of light, delivering speeds of up to 20 Gbps. The new chip is a significant improvement over its predecessor as it has eradicated the need for a complicated series of mirrors and other light direction-changing hardware.
Furthermore, the new chip leverages advanced software to precisely direct beams of light where needed, providing significant convenience in a fingernail-sized design.
Currently, Taara is commercially operational in 12 countries and facilitates seamless connectivity and data transmission.
