Carelogy and Nihon University have launched CatsMe!, an innovative AI-powered smartphone application that evaluates a cat's well-being based on its facial expressions.

Developed using data from 6,000 cat images, the app claims to boast over 95% accuracy in detecting signs of pain and discomfort.

Since its debut last year, CatsMe! has garnered over 230,000 users, helping pet owners like Mayumi Kitakata monitor their cats' health more effectively.

With Japan's aging population and declining birth rate, CatsMe! addresses the growing need for advanced pet care solutions in households where pets play a vital role in mental and emotional wellbeing.

The app not only assists owners in identifying potential health issues early but also aims to ease the stress of veterinary visits for elderly feline companions.
