According to new a research report from the IoT analyst firm Berg Insight, the installed base of smart electricity meters in the Asian markets China, India, Japan and South Korea will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 7.9 percent from 613.4 million in 2018 to reach 965.9 million in 2024. Over the next six years, smart meter penetration among electricity customers in the region is projected to increase from around 67 percent in 2018 to 94 percent by the end of 2024. At this pace, Berg Insight anticipates the markets will surpass 1 billion installed smart electricity meters and reach a penetration close to 100 percent in 2025.

MEF is pleased to announce two major developments related to MEF 3.0 LSO Sonata APIs. MEF launched the pilot MEF 3.0 LSO Sonata certification program for inter-provider service automation, with an initial focus on automating ordering of MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet Access E-Line services. Simultaneously, MEF introduced LSO Sonata SDK (Software Development Kit) Release 3 with APIs for inter-provider serviceability, product inventory, quoting, and ordering. Together, these important steps will accelerate implementation of standardized LSO Sonata APIs worldwide, driving frictionless inter-provider business processes and faster service delivery across the service provider community.

ZTE Corporation announced that ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G is compliant with the mandatory requirements of entering European markets after obtaining the 5G CE certificate. In addition to the 5G CE certification, ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G has also got the technical approval of Emirati operators du and Etisalat.

When mobile data, video and streaming plans started offering an “all-you-can-eat” menu, they included just that – unlimited usage. Regardless of the amount of data used, the concept was that the subscriber was charged a single fixed rate each month, in order to avoid overage charges and customers’ experiencing bill shock. Many in the industry believed these flat rate tariffs would alleviate the need for billing and rating validations or requiring assurance services. Instead, what transpired was a realization that the complexities of revenue assurance audits simply shifted the goal posts for revenue assurance teams to continue to deliver billing accuracy.
