Telecom gear manufacturer Tejas Networks announced that it has deployed its TJ1400 family of carrier-class Fiber-to-the-x (FTTx) and Packet Switching Network (PTN) solutions for Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS) in order to deliver high-speed fiber connectivity services to all businesses across the country.

NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) has entered into an agreement with FSM Telecommunications Cable Corporation (FSMTCC), BwebwerikiNet Limited (BNL) of the Republic of Kiribati, and Nauru Fibre Cable Corporation (NFCC) of the Republic of Nauru to construct, supply and install the East Micronesia Cable System (EMCS), an optical fiber submarine cable system. The EMCS will connect four islands in FSM (Pohnpei and Kosrae), Kiribati (Tarawa) and Nauru with a high-capacity optical fiber submarine cable, spanning approximately 2,250km. This marks the first submarine cable connection for the islands of Tarawa (Kiribati), Nauru and the state of Kosrae (FSM).

Bharti Airtel, India's leading telecom service provider, has won the Digital India Corporation's (DIC) Cloud and CDN mandate. This collaboration would strengthen DIKSHA (Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing), India's national platform for digital open education resources. The DIC is run by the Government of India's Ministry of Education (MoE).

Spark, New Zealand's major telecommunications company, plans to offer satellite-to-mobile services to its consumers. Spark plans to begin a pilot of this service before the end of the year in conjunction with satellite operator Lynk Global. The initial trial will be open to a limited number of Spark mobile subscribers who desire to join.
The service will primarily permit text messages at regular intervals throughout the day during the course of the trial. Spark, on the other hand, has stated that it plans to expand the service in 2024 when more commercial satellites are launched. At that point, it intends to provide the service to a larger spectrum of Spark clients, potentially including voice and data services.
