Telstra, together with Ericsson and Ciena, has announced a new rapid restoration service on its busiest subsea cable routes in Asia, to help keep customers continuously connected. The new continuous connection service combines the vast scale and diversity of Telstra’s subsea cable network, with flexible programmable infrastructure technology through Ciena’s GeoMesh Extreme solution.

In his first interview since 2015, Ren Zhengfei broke his silence on the series of allegation that have roiled Huawei since the second half of 2018, from restrictions on the company selling 5G products and infrastructure in some Western countries, to the arrest of his daughter Huawei CFO in Canada. Mr. Ren Zhengfei spoke openly to journalists at a press conference organized at Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen, China.

Huawei founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei, has robustly defended his under-fire telecommunications company and has insisted that the vendor will not be subjected to the same setbacks suffered by its domestic rival ZTE.

The very public ongoing saga involving the controversial arrest of Huawei CFO, Meng Wanzhou, has taken a fresh twist following reports that she is believed to have much closer ties to the two Iranian companies at the centre of the investigation being conducted by the US Department of Justice.
